ハマロカリスは、数億年の眠りから覚め、現代の横浜に上陸した架空の深海生物である。
彼らは、人間とは異なる時間感覚をもっている。
ゆっくりとした変化を見分け、風景の中に残された差分を読む。
この作品では、ハマロカリスが横浜の街を巡りながら、人間社会を観察している。

　港・建物・光・人の気配。

私たちにとって見慣れた風景は、異なる知性の視点から見たとき、まったく別の世界として立ち上がる。

もし、自分たちとは異なる存在が、同じ場所に現れたら。
私たちはそれを受け入れるのか。
それとも、理解できないものとして排除するのか。

「ハマロカリスの休日」は、写真と映像によって、現代の横浜にもうひとつの視点を重ねる試みである。

Hamarocaris is an imaginary deep-sea creature that awakens after hundreds of millions of years and arrives in present-day Yokohama.

It possesses a perception of time different from that of humans.
It reads slow changes, subtle traces, and the differences left within the landscape.

In this work, Hamarocaris wanders through Yokohama, observing human society.
Harbors, buildings, light, and the presence of people.
What appears familiar to us begins to emerge as an entirely different world when seen through the eyes of another intelligence.

If a being unlike ourselves appeared in the same place, how would we respond?
Would we accept it?
Or would we reject it as something beyond our understanding?

Hamarocaris’ Holiday is an attempt to overlay another point of view onto contemporary Yokohama through photography and moving images.
