｢その人を体現する12 個の物」という作品を創ろうと思いついたのは、米田知子のシリーズ“BetweenVisible and Invisible”に影響を受けているからだ。サルトルやカミュのように有名な人の持ち物でなくても、物にはそれを持つ人を語る力があると思う。今回、Still Life の系譜にある写真家の高崎勉に相談し共同で作品を制作することにした。例えば、INOX No.7 のピンセットは高崎勉を語っていると思うし、祖父から習字の手習いをした際に使った無名の硯は松龍を語ってくれていると思う。

　この作品は、とても個人的な作品としても見ることもできるし、人の営みを物から推し量る考古学的視点からは、普遍的な作品ともいえる。

 The idea for the work “12 Objects That Embody a Person” was inspired by Tomoko Yoneda’s series Between Visible and Invisible. I believe that objects have the power to speak about the people who own them—even if those people are not famous figures like Sartre or Camus. For this project, I decided to collaborate with photographer Tsutomu Takasaki, whose work follows in the tradition of Still Life photography.

For instance, I believe the INOX No.7 tweezers speak volumes about Takasaki himself, while the anonymous inkstone I used when learning calligraphy from my grandfather quietly evokes the presence of Shoryu.

This work can be appreciated as an intimate and deeply personal piece, yet from an archaeological perspective—where human life is interpreted through material remains—it also holds a universal resonance.
